The thin-wall male-female threaded insert has threads both inside and outside: the male thread is driven into the base material and the female thread accepts a bolt, forming a two-layer load-bearing thread structure. Its wall is extremely thin, so it fits into space-limited threaded holes; it strengthens and increases the wear resistance of threaded holes in light alloys such as aluminium and magnesium, reaching strength levels of grade 8 or grade 10 depending on the design.
