The 7th GAF 2026 Automotive Powertrain & Battery Structure Fastening Connection Technology Forum concluded successfully at Poly Junya Hotel, Zengcheng, Guangzhou on May 29 after a three-day session. Bringing together mainstream OEM automakers, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in South China, leading enterprises in embodied intelligence and low-altitude flight, as well as renowned brand suppliers, the forum focused on key industrial technologies and built an international high-end platform integrating cutting-edge technology exhibition, academic exchanges, business docking and achievement transformation. It fully supports China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) and advanced manufacturing industries in advancing toward high-quality development featuring high-end positioning and intelligent upgrading.

As an innovation leader in core connection technologies for mid-to-high-end intelligent equipment, YF ZCJ kept pace with industrial trends and showcased a comprehensive suite of robust fastening solutions tailored for new energy vehicles (three-electric systems), light alloy die-casting (aluminum/magnesium), embodied intelligence, low-altitude economy, industrial electronics and HPC & AI servers. The offerings help the modern manufacturing sector address common technical pain points and fully implement the strategy of optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Integrating Industry, Academia and Research to Tackle Common Industrial Technical Challenges

The new energy vehicle and advanced intelligent equipment industries are currently in a critical period of steady high-quality development. Throughout multiple high-end academic seminars and industry summits at GAF 2026, lightweight upgrading, intelligent manufacturing innovation and breakthroughs in core three-electric technologies emerged as the most discussed topics. To resolve prevalent technical bottlenecks, the forum further facilitated collaborative innovation across industry, academia and research. Three special sub-forums delivered in-depth, practice-focused content closely aligned with industrial demands:

  • Multi-material Application & Magnesium Alloy Development and Connection Technology Forum: Centering on the vehicle lightweight trend, experts from University of Science and Technology Beijing, GAC Group, Baosteel Metal and other institutions conducted in-depth analysis on the connection performance of Self-Piercing Riveting (SPR) and Flow Drill Screwing (FDS) for magnesium alloys. Xiamen University shared technologies for galvanic corrosion protection in magnesium alloy connections, targeting the key pain point of dissimilar material joining across the industry.

  • Final Assembly System Intelligent Manufacturing & Digital Assembly Technology Forum: Seres Auto and FAW-Volkswagen Foshan Branch presented their practices of applying digital twin solutions and achieving cost-effective digital and intelligent transformation. Notably, leading embodied intelligence enterprises including Kepler Robotics and AGIBOT gathered at the event to explore the industrial implementation of humanoid robots and unlock new productivity driven by embodied intelligence. In addition, XPeng Motors, NIO and Beijing Qingchuang Technology shared practical experience in balancing torque control and product quality, as well as the development and testing of threaded connections amid industry-wide cost reduction initiatives.

  • Three-Electric System Housing Structural Design Innovation & Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Forum: China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) introduced a machine learning-based method for predicting the mechanical properties of FDS joints on die-cast aluminum alloys. Baowu Magnesium Industry and Fengyang Aiers promoted the development of creep-resistant magnesium alloy motor housings. South China University of Technology delivered research on the coordinated regulation of mechanical and thermal conductivity properties of Al-RE (Aluminum-Rare Earth) cast aluminum alloys.

The venue witnessed active interactions between experts, scholars and well-known manufacturers. The exchange of valuable insights forged strong synergy for the joint development of the industry.

Comprehensive On-site Exhibition: YF ZCJ Achieves Fruitful Results with Full-scenario Solutions

Against the backdrop of large-scale adoption of new lightweight materials and increasingly stringent standards for fastening connection systems in precision assembly, YF ZCJ presented a complete closed-loop technology display at its booth. Over the three days, the booth attracted constant crowds and abundant business opportunities. Buyers and suppliers held face-to-face negotiations, drawing numerous domestic and overseas merchants, researchers and procurement teams from vehicle manufacturers for one-on-one targeted business communications.

Supported by the full-scenario technical layout introduced in the forum handbook, YF ZCJ demonstrated its capability evolution from single hardware components to full-chain scenario-based solutions:

  • Solutions for NEV Three-Electric Systems: To address failures of aluminum bolts under extreme operating conditions, high-pressure sealing defects and connection challenges for power battery enclosures, YF ZCJ exhibited a series of high-strength, anti-corrosion, anti-vibration and anti-loosening precision fasteners. Combined with advanced pre-applied thread locking technology, these products help the entire automotive industrial chain improve quality and efficiency.

  • Solutions for Light Alloy Die-Casting (Aluminum, Magnesium, etc.): Aiming at galvanic corrosion caused by potential difference and clamping force attenuation resulting from high-temperature creep of magnesium alloys in large-scale die-casting connections for new energy vehicles, the company supplied high-precision self-tapping and flow drill fasteners compatible with SPR and FDS processes, alongside advanced insulating coating technologies to ensure long-term structural reliability.

  • Solutions for Embodied Intelligence and Low-Altitude Economy: Riding on the development momentum of low-altitude economy and embodied intelligence in the Greater Bay Area, YF ZCJ developed high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum alloy bolts, titanium alloy parts and high-precision SMT standoff nuts for demanding working conditions such as humanoid robot joints, dexterous hands, quadruped robots and UAVs. These products cater to extreme weight sensitivity and high fatigue stress from frequent reciprocating motion, optimizing lightweight performance at the design stage.

Optimizing Full-chain TCO for a Win-win Intelligent Future

From technological innovation to practical application, and from individual components to full-lifecycle services across the industrial chain, this forum was not only a showcase of cutting-edge technologies, but also a milestone marking the high-quality development of China’s new energy vehicles and high-end intelligent equipment industries.
